Senior Product Manager - etnies

Being boring sucks. We don’t like it; you don’t like it. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager in our Footwear department to help us build a successful etnies Mens Global and Foundation Footwear Product Line. Think you’ve got what it takes, then send us your information already!

Responsibilities

  • Execute the footwear product process for the brand according to the R&D Timelines.
  • Work closely with etnies segmentation product manager on direction of overall men’s offering.
  • Build structured seasonal product strategies focused on the Foundation & Recognition. Product Line tier with the Marketing Manager. Study this tier and be an expert at the needs of the consumer who purchases at this tier.
  • Create line concepts for etnies inline men’s product line. Developing on trend footwear for the skateboarding market and various segmentation tiers, producing the most quality footwear for the end consumer.
  • Strategically selected travel that builds working relationships with key retailers, consumers in focus groups and attending key company events.
  • Hold focus groups per season for feedback/input with team riders, sales-domestic and Intl., marketing, specific retailers and target consumers.
  • High degree of interaction with consumers and Pro/Amateur athletes to get strategic insight for product.
  • Constant interaction on all aspect of product line plans, briefs, color palette, pricing, themes, graphics, and strategies with Marketing Managers.
  • Communicate with category Footwear Product Designers and their Design and Development counterparts to make day-to-day product decisions.
  • Work with developer/departments on line schedules and adhere to the product calendar, ensuring that design and production teams are on track.
  • Working with designers, developers, agents/manufacturers, to co-ordinate and develop new materials, constructions, processes and procedures.
  • Develop product briefs that give the designers a clear idea of what needs to be developed for the particular season. (Function/styling for brand consumer segments, STI implementation, Pricing, Silhouette merchandising with Marketing Managers and Segmentation).
  • Work with Brand Marketing Manager and Marketing Manager to identify new collaboration partners and execute development.
  • Responsible for getting product from concept to market - design, scheduling, line-building, and sample co-ordination for tech, photo, sales and CFM rounds (including pre-lines, focus groups , catalog production & sales meetings).
  • Work closely with Segmentation, Women’s, & Kids Product Mangers to strategize line building, share key resources, and cohesively communicate the etnies brand image through product offering.
  • Communicate the seasonal pricing goals of your line & maintain margins.
  • Keep the category product line plans/SKU lists updated.
  • Inventory management, monthly buy and markdown process.
  • Working together with Art/Internet dept. on catalog development & production, films, flyers, hang tags and boxes keeping the brand image to date and differentiated throughout the etnies men’s Global footwear category.
  • Participation in Marketing planning and category planning process by informing the categories on their exclusive product mixes as it pertains to their account strategies/segmentation.
  • Preparation, presentation and sample coordination for Global sales meetings.
  • Product considerations such as Pricing - Domestic/International, Competition, and Cycles.
  • Distribution/Segmentation – for etnies Foundation & Recognition.
  • Competition - analysis - styling, colors, top sellers, strategies.
  • Sales analysis - reports on current Sole Technology selling patterns - colors, styles.
  • Understanding of fashion trends and direction through travel & research.
  • Innovation of new designs and technologies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager is required.
  • Must have a background in the study of Product Merchandising/Design.
  • Experience in the Action Sports Industry is preferred.
  • Requires knowledge of Brand Management, Organizational awareness, Customer Knowledge, Influence Skills, Leadership Identity and Visioning.
  • Skills required include use of Word, Outlook, Excel, And PowerPoint at an Intermediate Level. Must have advanced skills with Photoshop and Illustrator.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment: This is primarily a sedentary office classification and employees work in an office environment with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances. Employees have occasional exposure to irate customers, staff and public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator and to operate standard office equipment. The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports and records that typically weigh less than 20 pounds.
